Meet Cozy Roller, Our 1959 Airstream: Vintage Montana Glamping in a Montana Camper

At our Bigfork, Montana, hotel, you’re not just staying for a night, you’re part of a community. You don’t just get a bed upon which to lay your head, you get a place to call home...if only for a moment. At our home, our guests are our family. A family that gathers around campfires while telling tales of adventures, connecting with others, and making lifelong friendships.

While your first stay here may be your only stay here, you’ll leave this family knowing that you are welcome back anytime you need a space under that big blue Montana sky.

Like any family, you may not want to spend every waking moment with us. So when Big Sky Country is beckoning, we’ve got your back with all things Montana in the Flathead Valley

“We believe family is what you make it, and when you stay here with us, you’re family.” (Your FLR Family)

Our campers are also a part of our family, and just like every family member, each of them has unique attributes that define exactly who they are. Cozy Roller is no different. He’s a camper crafted from adventures. Ones that can only come from originating in Montana. And he’s waiting to share those adventures with you.

Excellent Airbnb Hosts Come from Excellent Airbnb Guests

Your hosts, Brittain and Josh, know what you’re looking for when you’re seeking out the beauty that is Montana because it’s what they seek out when they adventure in Montana, too. They don’t want to stay in a cookie cutter hotel room, and they know that when you’re looking for hotels in Bigfork and beyond, you really don’t want to stay in one either.

And that is precisely why they landed in the Flathead Valley. To give you the same sense of awe that they felt when they first arrived here. To the time when these two were just beginning to realize their love of Airstreams with their ability to transport you out of this world into one of days gone by. Days that represented time spent focusing on the moment and savoring all the memories of a family road trip, misadventures and all.

This is what they bring to you at Flathead Lake Resort, and this is what Cozy Roller brought to them when they found him.

// Brittain and Josh’s first look at Cozy Roller. 2021 //

Looking to connect with every corner of their new home state, they found themselves on a journey in the Spring of 2021 into the far reaches of northern Montana, a place of raw beauty and the perfect amount of adventure. And Cozy Roller was the anchor to it all.

All decked out as an Airbnb, he was tucked neatly away in his own little world. Located just outside of Troy, Montana, a town of just under 1,000 people, he welcomed Josh and Brittain in, offering a tranquil interlude from the world.

And with a wood-fired sauna, along with a functioning claw-foot bathtub right in his backyard, he also served as inspiration to what these two Montana loving souls want to ultimately create for you, their guest at Flathead Lake Resort. Because Flathead Lake Resort is meant for glamping Montana style and will never be your typical Bigfork hotel.

So, how did Cozy Roller become the newest addition to the Airstream glamping fleet at Flathead Lake Resort?

As these two so often do, Brittain and Josh started a conversation that resulted in Cozy Roller becoming an integral piece to their Flathead Valley glamping dreams. Chatting with their Airbnb host about their own vintage Airstreams at Flathead Lake, the owner asked if Brittain would ever sell one of them. Brittain simply reciprocated and asked the same of her in reference to Cozy Roller.

Cozy Roller is nature tied in with a vintage Airstream.

“We saw a long run plan for the kind of place we envision providing our guests - the whole setting, the whole feeling, the whole comfort, the mountains, nature tied in with a vintage Airstream.” (Brittain & Josh)

Her answer got the wheels turning, pun intended, because yes, she would consider it. Looking to transition their land into year-round, true tiny home rentals, Cozy Roller, the 1959 vintage Airstream, was in need of a new home.

With your two hosts heading back from their northwest Montana excursion, preparing for their first summer season, Cozy Roller easily slipped into the recesses of their minds. But he wasn’t going to stay quiet for long.

Fast forward to the fall of 2021 and Cozy Roller took the main stage once again. Listed for sale, Brittain and Josh could no longer ignore the pull to bring him home to join the family at Flathead Lake Resort. And in November, they finally welcomed a 50s style Airstream into their fleet of the other decades.

Cozy Roller is the vision, the future, of things to come, the story yet to be written. Add to Cozy Roller’s story. Book your Flathead Valley Glamping stay today.

Our 1959 Airstream will take you back in time for some cozy tiny living and Montana style glamping.

From the moment you walk into Cozy Roller, you’ll understand the origins of his name. With an inviting craftsman style decor, you’ll feel like you’re tucked away in the Alps instead of in a 1959 Airstream. And although the wood burning stove is for decorative purposes only, it adds to that Swiss Alps charm that Cozy Roller emanates.

From the colors of the entrance and the classically refurbished kitchen, throughout the entire camper, including a metal wash basin and the 80 year old original throne tucked away in the corner, Cozy Roller exemplifies the term, cozy.

// Even the bathroom is cozy in Cozy Roller. //

And while that 80 year old throne no longer functions, the modern shower house right outside the camper offers you the convenience of modernity while keeping Cozy Roller’s quaint personality intact.

And speaking of personality, Cozy Roller is quite unique. The vintage windowed door and velvet style curtain that helps to separate the space are one-of-a-kind finds. And the kitchen? You’ll feel instantly like a chef with its butcher block countertops and fully functioning stovetop and oven, complete with a double basin sink and refrigerator.

// Wide open spaces, just like nature intended. //

While we really do want you to step outside of your tiny home at Flathead Lake Resort and experience the entire Flathead Valley in all her splendor, you may struggle doing so, when you land upon the queen size bed.

But don’t worry too much, Cozy Roller is, as his name states, quite cozy, but he will also make sure you’re rollin’ on down the road when it’s time to flee your cozy nest. Because that’s what life at Flathead Lake is all about. Getting here. Enjoying here. Staying here. But also, leaving here to find the next adventure. The next memory-making journey. After all, you can’t come back to visit us if you don’t embark upon more.

In order to leave us, you have to stay with us. With a now complete family of vintage Airstreams across the decades - 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s - along with our cabins, your tranquil interlude, just an hour’s drive from Glacier National Park, awaits you. Click here to book your stay now.
