Your Base camp For Glacier

is located in a quaint, lakeside community that dates back to the 1940s. Our area boasts the charm and character of years gone by with vintage vehicles, boats, and tractors dotting the gravel road leading to the beach. Great neighbors make our little nook of Montana complete.

Our dog-friendly, Bigfork hotel

It's authentic Montana — raw and real.

From Our convenient location
on Highway 35, you will find:

  • Woods Bay Wine: an intimate roadside establishment that boasts a tasting room and retail shop offering old- and new-world wines, plus craft beer and small plates.

  • Papa’s Market has long been a local staple! For anything from quick snacks, to fruits and veggies, breakfast items, a nice selection of wine and cooler beverages to frozen foods, apparel, and even summer lake necessities that may have been left behind, chances are — Papa’s will have you covered.

…there’s even a secret dive bar on the back side!

  • All guests of Flathead Lake Resort get access to our community’s PRIVATE pebble beach on Flathead Lake. This quiet beach is just a ~3 minute walk from all units.

  • Offering live music and great food throughout the week, the following locations are just around the corner:

  • The Saddlehorn Marina offers an eatery (MacKenzie River Pizza) on Flathead Lake, serving comfort food and cocktails, plus boat rentals.

The views from this side of the bay are lovely and offer a different perspective of Woods Bay and the Mission Mountains. The vibe is chill and the grounds provide a nice place to catch some sun rays during the day or wind down an evening.

  • Art, theater, live music, great food, and shopping abound! The heart and soul of Bigfork can be found on Electric Avenue. No trip is complete without time spent walking around downtown.

  • Great for all ages and abilities, this 2-mile (one way), gravel trail runs along the Swan River offering panoramic views of the Swan Range along the way.

This trail is great for walking, running, and biking. You may even run into the occasional horseback rider.

Wildlife is around. Be sure to carry bear spray.
